Hybrid RobotiX is an Open-Source Robotics shop based in San Diego, California.

What we believe

No walled gardens. Every choice we make leans toward open, standard interfaces over proprietary stacks. We default to source-available, minimal dependencies, and portable code โ€” and we flag lock-in wherever it tries to creep in.

Rust first. Our toolchain and framework are built in Rust for the reliability, performance, and longevity it gives us. Where a component can be pure Rust with a small dependency footprint, it is.

Degrade gracefully, fail loudly. Hardware is messy. Our software is built to keep working when a sensor drops out, and to report every error rather than swallow it.

What we build

  • A cross-build development toolchain for getting Rust onto robotics boards.
  • A robotics framework โ€” serial-bus servos today, kinematics and motion next.
  • The hardware and workflow to tie it all together.
